Now, back to the (injury rehab) game …

Time to blog about today’s big news. Well, actually, I’m blogging about the other big news.

Injuries play a role in any team’s poor start, and a big one was to left-hander Franklin Morales, who can be a difference-make if he produces to the level of his immense talent. Morales, who suffered a shoulder injury in his second start of the season, will make his first injury rehab start on Sunday for Triple-A Colorado Springs against Tacoma at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs.

Morales has been out since April 21 with a shoulder strain. After pitching well at the end of 2007 as a late-season callup, Morales proved last year he wasn’t ready for the Majors. But he made the team out of Spring Training as the fifth starter and held the D-backs to one run in six innings of his first start. He suffered the injury in his next start.

Morales said he’ll throw 75-80 pitches.

“I’m very excited because I need to focus on my game,” said Morales, who has thrown two simulated games and is confident in the condition of the shoulder.

I would sort of like to thank you for not mentioning the other big news. It’s an emotional topic and everyone has their own opions.

Do you happen to have any update on Buchholz? It seems like they keep pushing back the date of his return and I’m just wondering what kind of progress he has made.

Keep DeLaRosa off the field until he works his problems out; he’s costing us games.
